Hello, and welcome to our Recruitment site! There is a lot of valuable information posted here that will guide you in the decision making process of joining a fraternity. We, the brothers of the Kappa Zeta chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity at Villanova University, encourage you to explore our website, come out to our Recruitment events, meet our brothers, and contact us with any questions or concerns that you may have. We recruit 365 days a year, so feel free to talk to our brothers about our great fraternity at any point in the year. |

Important Terms
Bid: a formal invitation to begin the new member education program of a fraternity
Candidate: the formal name given to a man who has accepted a bid specifically from Sigma Nu and will complete the new member education program
Induction: the formal ceremony whereby men officially become candidates of Sigma Nu and are ready to begin the new member education program
Initiation: the formal ceremony whereby a candidate, pledge, or pledge brother officially becomes a brother of the fraternity (NOTE: Sigma Nu has 2 initiation ceremonies -- brotherhood and knighthood. More information is revealed upon initiation.)
New Member Education: aka Pledging; the period after recruitment where all of the men who accepted bids that semester learn about the history, traditions, and values of the fraternity; Sigma Nu uses the LEAD development program
Pledge or Pledge Brother: an informal name given to a man who has accepted a bid from a fraternity and will complete the new member education program
Recruitment: aka Rush; the process by which potential new members become acquainted with a fraternity |
